A TENGA Egg looks like a plastic Easter egg and fits in the palm of your hand. Inside is a soft, very stretchy sleeve with a texture moulded into it and a sachet of lube. It is one of the cheapest and least fussy ways for a man to try a stroker, which is why so many people search for it before buying.
The packaging explains very little, so this guide does. Below you will find exactly how to open and use one, how it compares with the TENGA Pocket and Cup, whether you can use it more than once, and how to throw it away discreetly. For the short definition, see our TENGA Egg glossary entry.
What is inside the shell
Open the egg and you will find three things:
- The sleeve. A small piece of TPE, a soft elastomer, with a pattern on the inside. It looks too small at first. It is not: it stretches several times its own size.
- A lube sachet. One dose of water-based lubricant, enough for one session.
- The shell. Two plastic halves that act as packaging and, afterwards, as a neat container for disposal.
Each design has its own inner texture, which is why eggs come in many names and colours. We currently stock the TENGA Egg Snow at ₹899.
How to use a TENGA Egg, step by step
- Find a private ten minutes. The Egg is silent, so it suits a shared flat or a PG room, but you will want to wash your hands afterwards.
- Open the shell. Twist or pull the two halves apart and take out the sleeve and the sachet.
- Find the opening. The sleeve has one open end. Spread it gently with your fingers to see the textured side.
- Add the lube. Squeeze the whole sachet into the opening. Do not skip this: dry TPE drags and can tear.
- Stretch it on slowly. Hold the opening wide with both hands and ease it over the tip. It will stretch to fit. Go slowly the first time.
- Use it by hand. Hold the sleeve, not just the base, and move it up and down. Squeezing changes the pressure, and that is where the texture is felt most.
- Add more lube if needed. If it starts to drag, add a little water-based lube. Never oil, lotion or silicone lube, which can damage TPE.
If you have used a hand sleeve before, much of this will feel familiar; our guide on how to use a masturbation sleeve covers the technique in more depth.
Egg, Pocket or Cup: which TENGA suits you
TENGA makes three entry-level styles. Here is how they compare, with today’s prices from our shelves.
| Style | How it works | Feel | Price at LustSutra |
|---|---|---|---|
| Egg | Stretchy sleeve, pulled over the penis | Soft, enveloping, texture all round | ₹899 (Egg Snow) |
| Flat sleeve worn over the hand like a mitt | Lighter, texture on one side, more control | ₹499 to ₹699 | |
| Cup | Rigid case with an inner sleeve and air valve | Tighter, with suction | ₹1,699 (Original Vacuum Cup Extra Cool) |
In short: the Egg gives the most all-round contact, the Pocket is the most discreet and cheapest, and the Cup feels closest to a reusable stroker. Our comparison of the TENGA Cup vs Pocket goes deeper on the other two.
Can you reuse a TENGA Egg?
TENGA designs the Egg for a single session. Some people rinse it and use it once or twice more, and the glossary entry reflects that. If you do:
- Rinse it inside and out with warm water straight after use, turning it inside out if you can.
- Let it dry completely in the open air before storing it. Damp TPE can grow mould.
- Check for small tears every time. A torn sleeve should go in the bin.
- Never share it, and never keep it for weeks.
If you find you use one regularly, a reusable stroker works out cheaper and more hygienic. Our guide to male masturbators explains the options, and our cleaning guide covers care.
Disposing of it discreetly
This is a real concern in joint families and hostels. Put the used sleeve and the empty sachet back inside the shell, snap it closed, wrap it in a paper bag or newspaper, and put it in your dry waste. Nobody will know what it was. The box it came in is plain too.
Common mistakes
- Too little lube. The single most common problem. More glide means more comfort.
- Pulling it on too fast. The material stretches, but it needs a moment.
- Using body lotion. Many lotions contain oils that break down TPE.
- Expecting a reusable toy. It is a low-cost experiment, not something to keep for months.
Is it safe to use?
For most adults, yes, as long as you treat it as a single-use, personal item. A few points worth knowing:
- Material. TPE is soft and pleasant but slightly porous, which is exactly why TENGA makes the Egg disposable. Our page on whether sex toys are safe explains porous and non-porous materials.
- Skin reactions. If you notice redness, itching or a rash afterwards, stop using it. A reaction to the lube is more common than to the sleeve itself.
- Pain or numbness. A stroker should never hurt. If it does, you are going too fast or too dry.
- Health worries. If you have pain, a sore, discharge or any change you are unsure about, see a doctor rather than a toy.
Is it worth buying?
If you have never used a stroker and want to know whether you would like one, yes: it costs less than many takeaway dinners, needs no charging and leaves nothing to clean. If you already know you enjoy strokers, a reusable one is better value. Budget hunters can also look at our guide to sex toys for men under ₹500. Frequently asked questions
Will a TENGA Egg fit me?
Almost certainly. The sleeve looks small but stretches several times its size. Use the full sachet of lube and ease it on slowly.
How is the Egg different from a TENGA Pocket?
The Egg is a stretchy sleeve that surrounds the penis on all sides. The Pocket is a flat sleeve worn over the hand, with texture on one side, and costs a little less.
What lube can I use with it?
Only water-based lube. Oil, lotions and silicone lube can damage the TPE sleeve.
Is it noisy or obvious?
No. It has no motor, so it is silent, and it ships in a plain box with no product names on the label.
